Petra's Hideaway sits in the middle of the Levada Nova. Head one way towards Santo António da Serra, or the other towards Machico and Santa Cruz, through laurisilva and eucalyptus forest, valley views and agricultural terraces, without driving anywhere. The levada path is level: walk as far as you like and turn back, or follow one of the longer published loops (7–12.5 km, moderate). Perfect for sunrise walks, sunset strolls, or a full day out.
